Pine Ridge Campground: Our Relaxing Weekend Escape

One of our biggest pet peeves is getting lost on the way to a campsite, especially when the GPS decides to take us on a "scenic route" that involves questionable dirt roads. Setting Up Camp

Bathroom & Shower Facilities
Okay, let's be honest – bathroom facilities can make or break a camping trip. We were pleasantly surprised by the bathrooms at Pine Ridge Campground. They were clean and well-maintained, which is always a huge plus. The bathrooms had flush toilets and sinks with running water. The showers were also decent, with hot water (although it did fluctuate a bit, so be prepared for that!). They were cleaned regularly, and we never had to wait in line, even during the busy weekend. We’ve definitely seen worse!
Activities in the Area
Pine Ridge Campground is perfectly situated for outdoor adventures. There are several hiking trails nearby, ranging from easy nature walks to more challenging climbs. We decided to tackle the "Pine Needle Trail," a moderate 3-mile loop that offered stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The trail was well-marked and easy to follow, and we even spotted a few deer along the way!
If hiking isn't your thing, there's also a beautiful lake about a 15-minute drive from the campground. You can go swimming, fishing, or rent a kayak or canoe. We spent an afternoon paddling around the lake, enjoying the sunshine and the peaceful surroundings. Mark even managed to catch a small bass (which he promptly released back into the water!). We could easily spend days exploring the area.

We had an absolutely fantastic weekend at Pine Ridge Campground. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The campground was clean, well-maintained, and easy to access. The campsites were spacious and comfortable, and the surrounding area offered plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. Whether you're a couple looking for a romantic getaway or a family with young children, we highly recommend Pine Ridge Campground.
