Another highlight of my time at Hoshinoya Bali was the opportunity to learn about Jamu, traditional Indonesian herbal medicine. I’ve always been fascinated by the power of plants to heal and nourish, so I was thrilled to participate in a hands-on cooking class focused on Jamu making.
Under the guidance of a skilled local chef, we explored the incredible world of Indonesian herbs and spices. We learned about the amazing health benefits of ingredients like turmeric (anti-inflammatory), ginger (digestion), galangal (immunity), and tamarind (detoxification). We used locally sourced, organic ingredients from the resort's garden, which made the experience even more special.
